As the leader overseeing offshore operations for the British Telecom (BT) – IM3 Hot House project, conducted from Chennai, India, I assumed full accountability for the project's success. Embracing an agile approach and incorporating XP programming, I adeptly navigated all phases of the project life cycle, introducing methodologies that significantly improved the frequency of deliveries and aligned seamlessly with the demanding 90-day delivery cycle set by customer deadlines.
Leading a dedicated 26-member offshore team with five leads, I managed five crucial supporting applications for BT. This effort resulted in the generation of an impressive US$750K in revenue for the quarter, underscoring the effectiveness of our collaborative efforts. My responsibilities encompassed the entire spectrum of project management, including but not limited to onsite-offshore communications, project tracking and monitoring, meticulous Risks and Issues tracking with the formulation of effective mitigation plans, routine progress updates to the onsite team and Virtusa leadership, as well as handling billing and forecasting.
The IM3 Hot House project's success was measured in revenue generated and the smooth and efficient collaboration between onsite and offshore teams, achieving timely deliveries that met stringent customer deadlines. My role as a Project Manager involved strategic oversight and hands-on involvement in ensuring that every aspect of the project contributed to its overall success. This experience has honed my project management skills and equipped me with the ability to navigate complex international projects with precision and efficiency.
